Claim Sent to Manufacturer

A consumer has now submitted a claim form and a claim form has been reviewed by a provincial administrator (PA) and sent it to the manufacturer for review.

  • Select the claim number
  • The manufacturer will review the claim form and attached documentation. No changes can be made to the claim form.

There are 2 options for handling the claim form, the manufacturer will select the appropriate one:

Approve/Deny Claim Eligibility

  • Deny Claim Eligibility:The manufacturer has reviewed all the information and decided the claim is not eligible. The PA will review the decision returned by the manufacturer.
    • An automated letter will be sent to the provincial administrator informing them that the manufacturer has returned the claim form.
  • Approve Claim Eligibility: The manufacturer has reviewed all the information and agrees that an arbitration hearing is necessary. If the Consumer has requested a Buy-Back, the manufacturer will need to provide its own calculations. The manufacturer will also need to provide their hearing defence and a list of hearing attendees. The PA will review the decision returned by the manufacturer.
    • An automated letter will be sent to the provincial administrator informing them that the manufacturer has returned the claim form.

NOTE: You will notice that there is a new button showing up Hearing Defence. Use this function can be used to provide any additional documents that support your case up to 24hrs before the hearing.

Claim No OEM Response

If you do not provide a response within 10 business days, the qualification worksheet will be considered overdue and the claim status will be set to Claim no OEM Response.

Letter(s)

  • A automated letter will be sent to the manufacturer reminding them that their response is due.
